TIP: Staying fit with a busy schedule

I’m starting out every week with a tip for everyone. These tips can be about ANYTHING. For this week, my tip is staying fit with a busy schedule.

Throughout my fitness journey, I have found out that the hardest part isn’t going to the gym or even eating what you’re supposed to. So, what is it?

The hardest part is your scheduling and planning. Working six or seven days a week, sometimes twice a day, trust me, it gets REALLY hard to stay on track. Here’s a secret that works for me. PLAN PLAN PLAN! Now, we all know how much I LOVE to plan, but even for those more “spontaneous” types, you have to plan. This is your new lifestyle and you worked hard for that beautiful body, so why lose it to vending machine snacks and quick bites from work?

Make your lunch the night before and place it in tupperware. While you’re at it, pack some snacks in sandwich baggies. It’s portion control because you can only eat what you packed AND a great money saver because you’re not spending $5 a day on fast food.

Think about it, the standard American works five days a week. $5 a day, five days a week and for two weeks per pay period equals FIFTY DOLLARS. What can you do with $50? Well, for starters, you can buy better products at the grocery store. So many people complain about the price of “organic” or “natural” products (which are SO much better for you), but with the extra $50, you can spring for the “organic” yogurt or even a trip to Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods.

It’s not easy, and it takes work and a dash of planning, but it’s not impossible to do. With enough repetition, it becomes a habit. Something worth having takes work. But, when you look in the mirror and see a slender body and a fatter wallet, you’ll be happy :) Have a great week!
